COLCHESTER — CTDOT is developing a 2027 pavement-preservation project on Route 2 between Marlborough’s Park Road overpass and Colchester’s Route 149 crossing, according to its October 5 notice.

The proposal includes milling and resurfacing in both directions between mile points 14.60 and 20.37. On-ramps and off-ramps are included. If construction requires ramp closures, the agency says short-term detours would occur during off-peak periods.

Design is scheduled for completion in October 2026, with spring 2027 construction anticipated if the project is accepted, funding is available and required property and environmental permissions are obtained. CTDOT identifies the funding as entirely state money.

The agency says it will not hold a public information meeting because the work is routine maintenance. Questions and comments can go to Principal Engineer Sebastian Cannamela at Sebastian.Cannamela@ct.gov or 860-594-2698, referencing project 0078-0097.

The notice is a planning announcement, not a current lane-closure alert. A later construction notice is needed for confirmed work dates and traffic restrictions.
