DARIEN — Connecticut State Police have identified the October 13 collision on I-95 northbound as a fatal motorcycle crash, updating the agency’s earlier report of serious injuries. The official update carries a crash-summary attachment labeled with case 2600318574, the same case number as the morning witness appeal.
The agency’s 8:57 a.m. release reported a full northbound closure at Exit 12 for an extended investigation. CTroads later reduced the advisory to a right-lane closure. At a fresh check shortly before 3 p.m., CTroads no longer listed a Darien closure; the live advisory page showed only a separate crash in Cromwell. Drivers should continue to consult live conditions because advisories can change.
A witness described a dark pickup, possibly black or brown, that left the scene. Police said it may have a missing side-view mirror, sideswipe damage and damage to its metal sidestep.
Motorists who passed the northbound Darien service plaza between approximately 6:40 and 6:50 a.m. and have dashcam footage are asked to call Troop G at 203-696-2500, referencing case 2600318574.
The fatal-crash update does not change the public request for witnesses. This report does not identify the person who died or establish a final finding of fault. Darien is outside Eastern CT News’s 49-town local coverage area; this article appears in Regional News.
