Two vehicles stolen from Ledyard’s Highlands neighborhood were recovered in New Haven following an October 8 investigation, according to WFSB’s October 9 report attributed to Ledyard police.
The investigation began Thursday morning with a report of three vehicles moving slowly through the neighborhood with their lights off. The caller also reported people checking vehicles in driveways for unlocked doors, police said.
Officers attempted a traffic stop, but the vehicles fled. Police obtained registrations for two vehicles associated with nearby homes and ended their pursuit after the vehicles reached Interstate 95 southbound.
Back in the neighborhood, officers determined that two vehicles had been stolen. One owner used GPS to locate a vehicle in New Haven, where police recovered it. New Haven police reported recovering the second vehicle roughly an hour later.
The sources checked do not identify an arrest or a court outcome. This article reports the vehicle recoveries and police-described sequence; it does not establish responsibility for any named person.
