LEDYARD — A proposed sale of roughly 11.46 acres of town-owned former wellfield property will be discussed at a public hearing Wednesday, October 14, at 6:15 p.m.
The town’s legal notice identifies the parcel at 480R Shewville Road as the former Loftus Wellfield. It proposes a $150,000 sale to Kevin Blacker of Noank for agricultural farming.
The proposal would remove the existing water-utility-use restriction through legal documents prepared at the buyer’s expense. The buyer would also take action to establish a permanent agricultural-use deed restriction.
Residents may attend in the Council Chambers at the Town Hall Annex, 741 Colonel Ledyard Highway, or use the remote connection listed in the town notice. Written comments are also accepted through its official contact link.
A vote is scheduled at a special town meeting October 28 at 6:30 p.m. The notice establishes a proposed transaction and hearing schedule; it does not establish that the sale has been approved or completed.
