Joseph Dunion, 68, of Norwich, faces charges following an alleged assault on a teenager after she left a school bus October 9, according to local reporting attributed to Norwich police.

WFSB reports that police said Dunion approached the girl, asked for her phone number and then grabbed and kissed her when she tried to leave. Police said witnesses observed the incident. Details identifying the minor are omitted.

The reports list third-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a child and interfering with an officer. Dunion was held on a $150,000 bond, according to WFSB’s October 13 report.

An appearance in Norwich Superior Court was scheduled for October 13. The sources checked do not establish what happened at that appearance, a plea or a sentence.

This report covers police allegations and a scheduled court step, not a conviction. WFSB and Norwich Bulletin reporting both attribute the charge information to police; they are not treated as separate firsthand proof of the alleged conduct.
