SOMERS — Marriage licenses will not be issued until at least 48 hours after the completed application under a rule effective October 1, the Town Clerk’s page says.
Both applicants must appear in person, though they need not arrive together. The clerk says the waiting period starts when the second person has completed their portion.
The office asks applicants to bring photo identification and a $50 fee. Licenses for ceremonies in Somers are obtained through its clerk, within 65 days before the wedding.
Posted hours are Monday through Wednesday 8 a.m.–5 p.m. and Thursday 8 a.m.–6:30 p.m., with Friday closed. Couples should confirm pickup arrangements and allow for office hours.
Questions can be directed to the Town Clerk at 860-763-8207.
