THOMPSON — Teddy Hodgdon IV won the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season finale at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, while Patrick Emerling secured the 2026 championship.

NASCAR’s October 10 recap says Hodgdon passed Emerling with 33 laps remaining in the 150-lap event. It was Hodgdon’s second victory of his rookie season.

Matt Hirschman finished second, Emerling third, Mike Christopher Jr. fourth and Matt Swanson fifth.

Emerling’s championship season included five wins and 11 top-five finishes, according to NASCAR. The result closed the tour’s season at the Eastern Connecticut track.

The event had been moved from Sunday to Saturday because of the weather forecast. The published results, rather than the older weekend schedule, establish that the finale has already taken place.
