UConn football coach Brooks Jenkins, 31, of Vernon, faces motor-vehicle and interference charges connected with an August 27 crash on Grant Hill Road in Tolland, according to October reports citing Connecticut State Police.

WFSB listed the charges as failure to renew registration, evading responsibility involving property damage, failure to take a sobriety test, failure to drive in a proper lane, operating without a license and interfering with an officer. It reported a $35,000 bond and an October 14 Rockville court date.

CT Insider’s October 7 report described allegations from an arrest warrant that Jenkins had been drinking before the crash and left the scene. Those claims are attributed allegations, not findings by a court.

The outlets differed on whether his surrender occurred Saturday or Sunday; this report does not resolve that date. Their accounts draw on the same police case and should not be counted as independent corroboration of each alleged act.

UConn’s official coaching biography identifies Jenkins with its defensive-tackles staff. No university disciplinary outcome or criminal conviction has been verified for this article.
