Ameer Nasir, 25, of Trumbull, was sentenced October 7 in Bridgeport federal court to 24 months in prison and three years of supervised release for defrauding Amazon, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Prosecutors said Nasir registered 23 trucking businesses with Amazon Logistics. Some accounts used false names or other companies’ identifying information without those operators’ knowledge.

Between approximately December 2019 and February 2021, he accepted more than 1,000 transportation assignments, misrepresented uncompleted trailer movements in Amazon’s management system and submitted fraudulent invoices that were paid, the release states.

Nasir was arrested May 8, 2025 and pleaded guilty to wire fraud March 6, 2026. Judge Kari A. Dooley ordered restitution of $3,547,090.93.

The release says Nasir remained free on a $300,000 bond and was required to report to prison November 12. That future reporting date is not confirmation he has begun serving the sentence.

The FBI investigated with Amazon’s assistance. This is a statewide court report based on the federal prosecutor’s announcement; it does not identify a specific Eastern Connecticut victim.
