UNION — Winter snow-removal price proposals are due November 3 at 3 p.m., with opening scheduled that evening at 7:30 p.m. in the Selectman’s Office.
The town’s 2026–27 packet asks contractors to state the number of trucks available and their hourly rate. Trucks must be equipped with a plow and sander and specified strobe lights.
Contractors must have a Connecticut flashing-amber-light permit and remain on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The town provides a two-way radio and assigns routes.
The packet requires insurance certificates, driver CDL copies and truck registrations before services are permitted. It also states that contractor-caused property damage is the contractor’s responsibility.
This is a procurement opportunity, not an employee vacancy or an awarded contract. Prospective bidders should review the complete official packet and confirm instructions with Public Works at 860-684-4706.
