WATERFORD — Police arrested a New London man after witnesses reported that he intentionally drove a Jeep into two vehicles in the Waterford Beach parking lot on October 10, according to the department’s full release.
Waterford Police said dispatch received several 911 calls at 3:17 p.m. and responding officers took Ryan Ziolkowski, 53, into custody. The department identifies the incident as CFS 2600039103.
The official release lists two counts of risk of injury to a minor; three counts of second-degree reckless endangerment; violation of a standing criminal protective order; violation of a protective order; second-degree breach of peace; impaired driving; reckless driving; and driving with a suspended license. The department’s list confirms that it reported both protective-order allegations, resolving a difference between earlier news accounts.
Police said Ziolkowski was processed and held on a $1 million cash/surety bond, with an October 13 appearance scheduled at G.A. 10 in New London. This describes the initial police processing. The result of that appearance and his present custody or bond status have not been verified.
All charges are allegations, not convictions. No minor or protected person is identified in this report, and the accused’s home address and full birth date are omitted.
